Summary

SUMMARY
Delivery Driver/Courier. Responsible for the delivery services to existing routes or for special deliveries. This route may include banks, pharmacies, labs and various commercial clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Maintain and operate company vehicles according to Fleet Safety policies
• Adhere to driver security procedures
• Sort, organize and account for all parcels.
• Load vehicle with various customer freight and parcels, begin route on time, and complete scheduled pick-ups and deliveries at various locations
• Adhere to established delivery and pickup times
• Comply with company mandated “real time” delivery tracking through the use of hand held device
• Maintain accurate manifests (electronic or manual).
• Perform in a professional and courteous manner at all times
• Other duties may be assigned.

Skills/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Valid NM drivers license. Required to hold a valid driver’s license for the state designated by the Company. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be able to pass a 7 year back ground check and a pre-employment drug test. DMC is a drug free environment.
